WTB: Hi and low trumpet horns for 1973 911

Looking for good shape (at least 8.5/10) red horns for my '73 S. It is a Feb '73 car and must have trumpets. Not the crappy GM horn that was on her. Must be like those in picture. If you have non-working ones that I could fix, we can talk.

    thanks

You might give some consideration to purchasing the replacement hi/low trumpets from PORSCHE which come black, but very simple to remove the top covers and repaint...did it on my 73 and I thought it looked as perfect as one would need. Same original sound.

Thanks. I did see a DIY on the bird and have contemplated it as a cheap option. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...arly-911s.html
Certainly will do in a pinch until I can find some real ones. I don't want to cut corners on this restoration. The few items that are reproductions or new OEM are placeholders for when I find "the good stuff". Except for Soterik's wiper arms, which will stay with the car forever.

I found some some non working trumpets where both the tubes were in decent shape and swapped the tubes to the new, still available, black horns and I now have 2 perfect working units. It is usually only the head part of these that cracks like crazy.

It saves all the hassle of trying to repaint black tubes to red

Certainly under consideration as a temporary measure. 5 minute fix and easier than painting. Ultimately though, still want originals. No shortcuts for this car.

We've bought new horns, took them apart, stuffed them and shot with plastic paint. I couldn't have been more pleased with color and finish. G.Led

Clarify stuffed them ? If I can't find an original, I'll probably do this as a temp fix, but just so people are clear,

I'm looking for a Hi horn still. Low in great condition found.
