I don't think you can get an OE windscreen tinted or clear anymore.Code:I went through ProSource in Andover, Mass., but I couldn't get a clear. I settled for a Sekurit, Saint-Gobain, Made in Finland, green tinted windshield. The tint is very close to the tint of the rest of my windows, but my original windshield was clear. At least, I didn't have to settle for a green-banded windshield. ProSource said that they thought they could get clear, but that it would come from China, and the quality was not as good as the Sekurit.

I have a near perfect tinted Sekurit from 1972 for $850. The Sekurit windshields availible now have a different logo. The Siglas from Stoddard are hit and miss with the logo quality. You should have them check specifically before they ship one to you. E mail DAhearn67@gmail.com Thanks.

I have 10 new laminated 911 screens 5 x Clear and 5 x Green Tinted. They are of UK manufacture.
They are manufactured to the correct spec to be legal but they are unmarked and were sold to me as 'curved glass'
We are going to make some polycarbonate stickers with the Logos cut out so that ' in theory' they can be marked with a caravan security glass etching kit. We don't plan to do the etching just supply the stickers.
I can sell the clear screens for $160.00 each and the greentinted for $195 each but shipping could be an issue.

Good question... I always thought it was chemical etch, but just ran my fingernail across the Sekurit markings of three different cars, and it feels deeper than what you'd expect from acid. For a company cranking out glass for half a dozen car makers, an easily removed sticker and a spot blaster would be the fastest method.

Rubber coned spot blaster with vacuum attached? Still have one I got from Eastwood in the '80s, it wasn't new tech even then.
The Google provided this from Pilkington Automotive Glass: http://www.pilkingtonclassics.com/
Apparently they sandblast, and will even etch the correct code by make. Wonder if that includes 911 windshields?

Chemical or media same difference to the same result. Any reputable trophy shop can scan an original logo and make a stencil to media blast.
I had some VW windshields made a few years back. The trophy shop had a tiny blast box (doing wine glasses etc) So we used a garbage bag over the end of the cabinet so he could blast the logo into the corner of my new pieces!
