Thread: Rubb'n on the Chevy...

  1. #11
    Chuck,

Great car, we pulled my wife's 70 LT1 vette roadster out of storage last year for resto work. Car was a mess but nothing a bunch of money can't fix. I grew up driving muscle cars- can't believe I lived through it, . I drove my first 911 in the early 80's - bought it and have never looked back, but I still have a warm place in my heart for these old beasts.

Chuck what color yellow is your Chevy?
Looks a bit lighter than the Daytona Yellow on our 70.5 Z28.
Mines needs just a little tlc and hopefully ready for spring.
Gear vendors over drive is the only non stock part on my wish list.
Seems driving them with patina now is as cool as a fully restored model.

Would you do a Targa Ca in your Chevy?
    I was considering it...

    Thumbs up

Dick Guldstrand was suppose to be the Honored Guest at this show, Davey said he called and old Dick has a pretty bad case of pneumonia....... Lets hope he gets better soon...
Davey called Dick earlier this week and said he's doing much better........... outstanding!!!!

Mike, it was/is a original YY code car... YY was GM's code it's 'soft' yellow it offered for all it's cars. Each division called YY something different, Chevy called it Butternut Yellow.

Hmmmmmmmmm ??? I think me and the car would get in trouble... the thing handles and stops a bit better then a stocker, and I have had it up in the hills,... but on an 'aggressive' tour? ... I think I'd start to over drive the car and possible disaster would ensue......

What IS really cool about this 'mid-size' car is that when I do go for a long vacation type dive in it everything (and more) can go in the truck... including a bicycle.........

I don't know if Chuck would do the Targa in his Chevy, but I ran it earlier this year in mine and he'll attest that it did just fine.
I've also signed up for the Targa Baja California in another Chevy-should do equally well

Nice Chevelle Chuck! In '66 they called this colour Sunfire Yellow. Here's my '66 coupe:

Also that Citroen El Camino wannabe is for sale, here:
