Here is a tool kit from a mid 72 911S, it was an original owner car and I bought the toolkit from the mans estate. I have every reason to believe this is exactly as it was delivered with the gentlemens car as he would have no reason to change and didn't use the tools as he was not mechanically inclined.

Having seen 100s of kits and having owned dozens, NEVER seen those DIN open end wrenches in a 911 kit ! THanks.

Question on the P208 tool. I know there is a difference between early and late with the pin length. Will either wrench work in either situation? Or will the pins literally be too short or long to work in different situations? Thanks for any info.

Good question...which year is the long pin type? My latest year car is a 72` & I have a long pin P208 that I bought unaware of any length variances; It might be useless for me unless it is for an air-conditioned 72` of which someone in the past suggested the long pin tool is used.I took that as a joke @ the time as I believe it was intended!....cliff

These are two 65 bags Ive had. Rivets in the clasps, white interior in one white and bone in the other, IKA no. 1794 stamp on clasp receiver.

Same here, first set I've seen but had heard of some others (DIN Wrenches). Thats why I mentioned the ownership history. Pretty cool find I thought.

Still need to find the fuse pack and the PORSCHE rag. If someone comes across either please let me know.

So there appears to be three versions of the toolkit used in 1973. Notable changes to second and third versions:

The toolkit second revision in 1973 changed:

• Black basket-weave vinyl bag with black interior (“JUSIN” markings) and string ties instead of clasps

The 1973½ 911 models toolkit changes:

• Black basket-weave vinyl bag with black interior (“JUSIN” markings) and snap buttons
• Single red screwdriver handle with reversible flat/Phillips screwdriver insert

However, I see that an early RS had the reversible flat/Phillips screwdriver insert with the red handle. Was this used for almost the entire 1973 model year, or just part of the year? Thanks for any insight.

I believe the "accepted" screwdriver for an authentic RS kit would be the reversible red-handle with flat/Phillips blade. The tie versus snap bag, IMHO, is debatable and if I were a judge, I'd not ding a tool kit for either. However, a clasped bag and/or two 10,000 volt screwdrivers would, probably earn a ding and up to, say, a point off. Thanks.
