I just put Pirelli P6000 195/60-15 with the Porsche approved N2 designation. I really like these tires especially compared to the Michelin Pilot Exaltos in size 205/60-15 that were on the car. The steering is a little lighter now, the ride is more quiet, and the car seems more responsive in turns now. I narrowed my tire choices down to the Eagle GT, Avon CR6ZZ, the Vredestein Sprint Classic, and the Pirellis. I didn't like the look of the tread pattern or the sidewall of the Eagle GT. I was warned about stones getting kicked up from the Avons and the Vredesteins intrigued me because they look retro but wasn't sure about their construction and handling.

I had the Vredestein Sprint Classic tires on my 1972 911T. Their appearance was nice and period correct, but I was not impressed by the grip and the steering response was just average. I will try the Pirelli P6000 tires next.

Has anyone tried the Dunlop SP Sport 5000? I was previously on Yokohamas but they are no longer made...

In April I replaced my old Pirelli P-3 185/70-15 tires with Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS 195/65R-15 tires from Tire Rack. A painless transaction with what has so far been a very satisfactory product.

I drive fear into the hearts of faster cars, with wider tires, driving on my Vredestein 165s. They rock.

Kenik, nice to hear someone punishing the Sprint Classics! Maybe next time I'll try them out.
