Great pics Rick. Big WWII history buff here too, obviously of the aviation variety. That Merc is unbelievable - the Power Wagon too. The way that all of these machines are kept and displayed - unbelievable! And I am sure every single one of them is in fully operational condition - even more unbelievable. I sure would like to get my hands on that A-26.

    No kidding! . . .

One of the Caretakers there said the plane has to go up every coupla years, just to keep the air-worthiness certificate up-to-date.

All I can say is . . . . there's lotsa room on that plane for more than one pilot. (Like in the nose!) My kinda seat time.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny... I do believe that you have to have a pilot certificate to be at the head of that line.

And if you do have one, then you've been holdin' out brother...

Actually Rick, those planes probably fly more than that. It is not good for an aircraft to sit. I actually flew with Fuddy Duddy at an airshow several years ago IIRC and I am almost positive that one or both of the DC-3/C-47s were at Oshkosh this year for the 60th anniversary of the make. As a matter of fact, if you guys like warbirds, you need to make the trek to OSH sometime. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for sharing those pictures - It truly was a great event. Thank you, Ray, for organizing it (With a few others) and thank you DM and GL for opening up your collections. A fantastic day for a great cause - And Roger had some fun with us, too.
