'69 911S with fuchs alloys, valve stem q's

trying to fit new tires to our 1969 911S, 15" deep 6's, tires currently have tubes, trying to fit tubeless tires, and cannot get a valve stem that will fit.

It seems the taper of the valve stem hole, combined with the angle of it, make it impossible to fit anything that will hold air.

    what has been done.

currently, the car and 4 new tires are at my local, trusted mechanic, and we just keep shrugging our shoulders. I've tried metal valve stems, high pressure rubber stems....

    help, quickly.

George is right, you need a valve stem with the part number TR-415 on it. If you look at the common stem for late wheels, it will be TR-413.

The TR-415s are hard to find, call around and ask the tire shops in your area. At my friend's shop they refer to that stem as a "fatty" since it is bigger in dia on the inside.

    found

I found a BBS metal stem worked out fine, it was exactly the right diameter on the inside of the rim, and threaded all the way up the stem.

    thanks for the help.
