    Thumbs up

That's super cool, and a super cool road Ian...

50 years ago I was doing a Calif. loop vacation with my girlfriend in my hot rod '67 VW with my 10 speed on the back...
We got to the Portal parking lot, I took my bike of the carrier and told my girlfriend to follow me all the way down to HWY 395..
T-shirt, tennies, cutoffs and no helmet... I just let the bike go on those 1/4 mile steep downhill switchbacks, braking then letting it go for the next, all the while looking at the floor of Death Valley.......... 50 years later I still get the chills...

    Cheers and thanks bud

It's a steep road. At 8,000 feet or so my tired 3.2 felt like we were climbing at cyclist pace...

NA cars loose 3% for every 1000 feet of elevation. 8X3=24%. So if you had a healthy SC/Carrera with 180 to 210 hp your down to 140 to 150ish hp. My 190ish hp POLO engine at the top of 14,000 foot Pikes Peak lost 42%. That's down 79.8 hp. Basically back to almost stock 912 hp.
Based on where I drive, I'd buy a 2017 or later Turbo 911/Cayman, if I was buying a coolant pumper.

Not near as dramatic as the pictures above, but a nice midweek lunch run. Up Golden Gate Canyon, across Peak to Peak Hwy then down Coal Creek Canyon. Mid 70’s to mid. 80’s and sunny.
