It’s the real deal. A 1940 BMW R12 with an early 50s Steib sidecar. The photo was from 2011. Reliable bike except for the magneto, which failed twice after rebuilding by the so-called experts. It took a specialist in Germany to finally make it right.
I bought it as a project in boxes around 2000. Sold it in 2004, as a project on boxes when I lost interested. Bought it back in 2008 as a project still in boxes! finally got it together and running in 2011. Sold it to a west coast enthusiast in 2017, where I believe it still resides. Unfortunately, Riley’s gone too (old age) but I have his nephew Murphy. Riley and Murphy in 2017:

What a beautiful dog!!!! My Aussie is getting there. I rescued him from a puppy mill over 10 years ago. And I do let him sleep with me!

I took this picture as he was chasing my ATV. He needed a Superman cape!

Reading about Newfoundlands, but have never encountered one. People speak of the breed as highly devoted, intelligent dogs. They go back a ways, evidence of when the Vikings landed in N. America, and possibly endemic to that area of Canada. Prized for webbed feet, they were able to perform rough tasks for fisherman in extreme conditions. However, at 125 - 150 lbs. hoisting one back in a boat at sea could be dangerous.

Some say they live for the water, and must have access to it regularly. Coat care can require a professional.. or a proper grooming table at a minimum. Quote from previous owner, "The sheer amount of love from this breed will astonish you."

These are our 5th and 6th Newfoundlands. Our first brown one. We previously had 2 Landseers (black and white) and 2 other black ones. The brown one is 7 months old. You won’t find sweeter dogs. They are also very mellow and laid back great family dods. Two newfoundlands hiking in the mountains.jpgTwo newfoundlands hiking in the mountains.jpg

    Introducing Shamrock

Shamrock was training at Canine Partners for Life to be a service dog, however after 14 months he was 'released' from the program. As a volunteer I was able to adopt him, and introduce him to a "no work life" !! He's now been with us for 10 months and living the dream .... he's keeping me fit as well...
