Heritage Design Package orange bar crest

    dear all,

I was looking with sort of astonishment and admiration at all these new 992 ST being delivered to its customers wordwide.
Not only did I notice the recessed Porsche crest on the front hood, which was first seen on the 968, but also that quite some cars had the orange bar hood crest.

I learned that the Heritage Design package did include the orange bar crest on
    - front hood
    - airbag
    - hubcaps

I had a look at the hub caps and thought, well, interesting - are these for order?

I went to my local Porsche Dealership and they looked at me with ??? - they had no clue about the existance of these parts, and after checking PET and a nearby part ID i had, we made a trial order at the central warehouse to have a look what might come the next day.

    And yes, we gambled correct:
the highest price cap was of course the correct item.

These caps do fit all 997, 991, 992 series rims, have a outer diameter of 75mm for an interiour opening width of 60mm.

    There are two version available
    - black
    part number 9P1.601.147.F O41
    - platinum
    part number 9P1.601.147.F OB5

With the still avaible orange bar hood crest you now can turn your „newbie“
into a heritage design edition variant.

    enjoy your ride

    best regards from
    bavaria

Haul. does the heritage design orange bar hood badge have the same size and peg mount as a 901 car?
Looking at the hub caps you show. the artwork looks great.

    Bob,

everything stays the same…swapped the parts on my 997..plug&play
    except airbag-would need a different steering wheel…

    Bob,

good question, I do not assume so…but have no actual proof as I have not asked for it.
I used the NNS orange bar crest I bought some years ago in order to compare the casts and quality.
The time when the factory made the video of the crest production…

As the hubcaps have a production date from january 2021, the hood crest used in the heritage design package sure is also from this period

    Haul
interesting the pelican poster said he wanted a "Heritage" badge. But he ordered the Porsche Classic with part #90155921027.
This badge is nice but the pebbles are larger and placed in a more orderly way than the original artwork that was smaller pebbles more randomly placed.

Here is original one on white car and just plain Porsche one on yellow car. I thought new Porsche one was pretty nice.

The first thing I look at on a ‘period’ badge is the pebbling. NONE of the repros or current offerings have duplicated that original style. Fine pebbling, completely overlapping, random patterning background that does not detract from the foreground elements. The mark of a great design element.

The repros and new offerings overwhelm the rest of the badge. Coupled with the overly shiny gold, creates a gaudy image.

yes, Michael I agree with you on the pebbling.
both engineering and graphic arts have been lobotomized by the new breed of click and print relatively talentless fakies.

    I have a question....
These are take offs from the old days when i rebuilt these cars.
    my question is ...
what is the reason the bars look more reddish than orange?????
the cars i as doing back then were 1966-1972
    enjoy
