    Formed fiberboard cover in trunk

I am doing some clean up/restoration in the trunk of my 1969. The round hole on the floor in front of the ventilation fan assembly doesn’t have a cover. I looked it up in the PET and found a reproduction cover at Stoddards and ordered it. When new from factory was this cover painted/coated or left original color? I looked in Dr. Johnson’s book but no trunk photos show it.
    Thanks
    Bill

It was just black paper cardboard.
    Stiff and almost shiny.
And just glued in place with yellow glue. Maybe black glue.
This is an extra I had.

Post a photo of the Stoddard one when you get it.

    Thanks,
