Thread: 911S/911L Cars for Sale

Check BAT in 4 (?) days. A red 67 Targa for sale. Purchased in 2023 and being sold again. Not because of problems but the guy has two new Porsches on order and only 10 garages. Car restored by Carparc. Appears to be well maintained and known in the community. Should be a good gauge of declining, stable or growing interest. Sold for $263,000.00 with the BAT fee last September.

Went out for $265,000.00. I guess $270,00.00 with with BAT fee. Sorry my previous post said 263 dollars. Only off by three zeros. Pretty stable over the 8 months. Might speak to the current status of the Porsche market

I was watching as well. BAT fees are still 5%, but now capped at $7,500 instead of $5,000. Same conclusion- stable over 8 months (but significantly down from peak values).

On a side note - what a business model BAT has!

I see lots wrong with this car and not just a fake engine #. The upper image of the engine serial is just wrong, while the lower is correct.

I agree Dave, the one on Bring a Trailer is the original engine:

I have emailed RM Sotheby’s with the question if they can contact the buyer of that S.

To our admired and respected site moderator, Chuck Miller, this situation is intriguing and might be worthy of its own sticky thread. My guess is we may never again be in this unique educational position to compare side-by-side a possible forgery to the original.

Additionally, because the car in question is not a $1.5MM Porsche 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster and thus at a tight legal remedy cost-benefit spread; monitoring how this unfolds may be interesting to us mere mortals.

Having made the aforementioned reference, I am not contradicting the obvious fact that all of us - who spend way too much time on this forum and my wife’s opinion notwithstanding - are as rich as Bill Gates, as funny as Jerry Seinfeld, as handsome as George Clooney, and as cool as Steve McQueen.
