Help Identifying & Pricing Porsche Tool Kit

I was cleaning out my garage and came across this Porsche tool kit. My dad had a 911 in the late 60's and another in the early-mid 70's. I suspect it's from the latter. I believe all pieces are here. Can anyone confirm the year and approximate value? Is this the best place to post for sale or any suggestions? I have an eBay account and a Facebook account but would like to keep it simple and quick if possible.

    Thanks!

It will be good to show the date mark on the belt. I’m sure you’ll get some answers. Make sure to list items with pricing in the proper For Sale section once you settle on them.

Yeah, that’s a rare bird with the string tie and the original red handled screw driver handle with the swappable blades.

2k is a starting point IMO.

Yep - looks like a '73 - similar bag was just posted to Bring a Trailer: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/po...11-tool-kit-4/. I have the same toolkit for my '73, minus the legendary reversible screwdriver.

Seems to be missing pudenz fuse pack but that small flimsy pack often goes awol and or clear sleeve gets mashed by heavy tools.

As best can tell from the photos I have the same kit but complete with fuses in my first 500 series RS — mine too has the tie bag with the reversible screwdriver and date coded phoenix belt — presumed original kit of car since it came to me in the car now over three decades ago. Not technically part of kit but supplied at new and pleasingly in with kit when it came it was a boxed touch up paint in the reserved 908 GP white colour used only on RS in 73 which seemed to substantiate items being original kit and lackstift are original to the car.

Not too long ago I sold a spare of same type of kit but with press stud fasteners on bag to friends for their restored third series RS — that kit had the rare reversible screwdriver and phoenix dated belt.

Belt code on the OP’s kit should (if ever it gets posted) work give some indication of date assuming it’s not a put together set.

Thanks everyone! Item is now posted in the forum and on Bring a Trailer. Current bid is $450.

My dad owned a tangerine 911 from the mid 1960’s but it burned up when the engine caught fire. He then replaced that with a dark blue 1973 model that he bought from a private owner in Michigan. Unfortunately, he was in an accident c. 1979 and the (empty) driver’s side was smashed in. BUT THE TOOL KIT SURVIVED! (Oh, and my dad survived too…). Including a couple pictures of the car and a family tour of the Porsche factory in Stuttgart. More information and pictures at the link!
