    Thumbs up

That's going up to turn#6 from the ESSES at RR …
I was at one NASCAR race at Riverside... One of the many Gurney won...

Pretty damn wild, most made their own apexes...…….

I attended many races at RIR-still my favorite track to watch and drive. Those vintage NASCAR races were as good as anything back then with incredible cars and a wide array of drivers. Petty still has his Superbird in his musuem(ran it at Goodwood a few years ago!). Obviously this shot is off one of the pace laps as once the race started many just straightened the esses and drove right across the dirt-Petty included.
I still have an aisle placard, some chunks of the alligator teeth from the esses and the Union 76 sign from the infield fuel station-all gathered up after the last race at Riverside. Still miss that track and still haven't forgiven the city for allowing that historical site to be replaced by faceless sprawl.
    67 911 , 69 911S, Ford V Ferrari 906LH, 85 Carrera...and-gasp! a bunch of Corvettes, Musclecars and Italian crap(330GTC,GTA/M,308GTB)
