Let's say you could restore this car for roughly $200,000. You would still come out ahead. The missing engine is the wild card here.

    This fine example of a Porsche 911S offered for sale is Chassis #119301457 Engine# 6392061. Trans# 7198612.
It was produced on July 21 1969 and was special ordered with the highly desirable black paint (code 6838) with a matching
black interior & tinted glass all around (as per Porsche COA).

This 911S has lived its entire life in Southern California… which is known for having the best examples of rust-free, well taken
care of, vintage Porsches in the world. It was a 3 owner car before its 2 year total restoration was begun in March of
2014. Its last owner retained ownership for over 30 years.

Starting with a solid Southern California rust-free 911S (that had been resprayed Porsche yellow in the mid 70’s) this 911
retained it’s yellow paint for the past 3 decades, until it was decided that the car would undergo a complete rotisserie
restoration starting in May of 2014.

The restoration started by thoroughly stripping the entire car down to bare steel on a rotisserie (see video). The body was
in phenomenal condition with zero rust (as you’d expect from a car that's spent it’s entire life in Southern California).
All appropriate parts needing powder-coating were sent off for a show-quality finish. Plating & anodizing were sent to the
same company that plates Singer's 911’s. The correct (’69 dated) shocks were sent to Koni North America for their 4
month restoration process. The entire brake system was sent to PMB in Utah, the premier 911S brake restorers,
and rebuilt better than new with correct anodizing/finish. Also new updated (better) pistons were added to the
calipers by PMB, making the stock brakes even better, while still maintaining their factory correct appearance.
Also ordered were a new master cylinder, brakes lines etc… Below is a much more detailed list of parts & restoration
steps that this 911S also underwent during its two and a half year restoration.

Starting the restoration, the engine was inspected & found to be in excellent condition. However, to match the full restoration
the car would soon be undergoing it was decided that the engines appearance would also be renewed & detailed to match the
rest of the car (along with any other necessary tuning it would required to end up as a flawless running 911S). The
MFI pump & throttle bodies were handed off to Arron at Burnham Enterprises in Camarillo, Ca. world renown for
rebuilding the fuel injection systems for the 911S’s. Fuel injectors were also tested at Burnham & passed their tests
with flying colors. Once finished, the engine would be worthy of entering any concourse… as it already ran excellent
and has tons of power with that "monster" 911S sound.

    Exterior:
*Bottom of the car was stripped to bare steel. Sprayed with epoxy primer, then the correct factory undercoating.
*All doors, deck-lid and trunk gaps adjusted perfectly to 4mm specs. All panels line up to each other precisely.

    *Correct Sigla brand tinted windscreen.
*All aluminum door & window trims sent to TRE Motorsports for polishing and re-anodizing.
*New rubber seals ordered for entire car. Windows, Pedals, Deco trim, Door seals, Hood, etc… etc…
*New deck-lid grill & “Porsche” script in correct gold color.
*New chrome: Door handles, Rear quarter-window latches, License plate frame, Horn grills, F& R bumpers.
    *Bosch brand H4 headlights.
    *German H4 driving lights.
*Gas tank removed (zero rust), cleaned & sealed.
*New Fuel pump with all new lines.
*Euro tail lenses & front signals.

deck-lid shocks, Washer squirters w/ new hoses, washer bottle & motor, license plate lights.
*Correct date coded (1969) deep 6” Fuchs restored by Al Reed.
*Heater control valves restored to new along with new silicone heater hoses.
*CV axles: Repainted, resealed & re-greased.
*Shifter assembly: Removed cleaned & repainted, new shift-rod bushing.
*Tail light & front turn signal assemblies completely restored.
*Re-sealed transmission with new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate & throw out bearing.
*Horns disassembled, cleaned, tuned & repainted.
    Interior:
New seat upholstery w/ foam, Dash, Speaker grill, Carpet, Headliner, Visors, Re-built Becker Europa radio, New dual stereo
dash speaker update, Coco brand floor mats, Door panels new, Steering wheel restored by Alan Gunn leather; New bearings
chrome trim ring w/ horn pad. Rear view mirror, Shift knob, Knee pads, Ashtray, Turn-signal switches taken apart &
cleaned for perfect electrical connections, Steering wheel bearings, Horn connections, Dash knobs, Dash upholstery
trim, Dash aluminum trim, Under dash wiring clean & orderly, Pedals rebuilt, Shift linkage rebuilt w/ everything new, Rear seat area side panels, Rear seats & rear deck tray upholstery, Dome lights new.

alignment by PCA specialist (the car drives straight as an arrow). Torsion bars removed & refurbished. Complete suspension
looks like you took a time machine & traveled back to a Porsche dealership in 1969.

Wrong badging and a color change. I'm not sure is this has "good investment potential for the future."

Looks like a US version. Gemini Blue did not come available until the 1971 model year, the script on the rear lid below the '911L' looks like 'Sportomatic', yet the interior picture has three pedals. Go figure.

    Auction Description:

The Porsche 911L coupe 2.0 was considered to be a tuned-down US version of the Euro S model to achieve US emissions standards. Finished in Gemini Blue metallic with a black leatherette interior, this is a nice driving 911L with the matching numbers 130bhp engine and 5 speed gearbox. A rare car, and with good investment potential for the future.

Unless I misunderstood, the color change was to take it back to original black color.
