For your planning purposes, beginning on December 1, 2013, all parts ads will be closed following their fifth (5th) "bump".
FINALLY!!!!!!! If you really enforce it. There is at least one "member" who has bumped his threads at least 200 times!!
Hi Peter,
I was wondering, if other members reply´s/questions, that will bump the add, and often ocurres also count as bumps, and also willl close it? Thank you in advance.
Kindest regards
Paulo

Thanks for asking. A question and the follow-up answer is not a bump.

Any traction on the commercial seller sub-forum? There are obviously some sellers posting that are only here to sell and more and more it's looking like abuse of the forum. I mean how many ads for radios are needed in one day?
Also, there doesn't seem to be any control of how many ads these sellers have active at any given time nor, a limit to how many of these ads that can be bumped in a single day, effectively masking the occasional enthusiast ad. Then you get two or three sellers in 'bump wars'..
It's looking more and more like EBay with having to filter out four million commercial ads to get down to what's interesting.
Maybe limit how many new ads can be created by any user in a week (one per day??). Additionally, limiting the number of threads a user is allowed to bump in a week (again one/two per day?)
Seeing two persons bumping 6-8 ads in a day essentially drops other ads off the main page.
It would also be easy identify the 'professional' sellers and require payment for AD SPACE since that is essentially what it amounts too. Abusers loose access to the classifieds section for a week, two weeks, three weeks,,, Sliding scale for the number of offenses.
Of course the moderation needs to ramp up a bit.

Indeed ... I like the classified, sometimes I bought great stuff from posters and I also sold some spares years back. What about:
1. Max 5 F/S post per month (but how to make sure posters are real and not fake accounts from same dealer) so radio dealers can group their goods in a single place
2. No bumps or comments under the F/S: lock them (but sometimes there are some interesting and educating debates underneath ...)
3. Limit the F/S to paying members? But, again, we risk to lose some interesting bits to other platforms ...
Overhead on moderators should be kept to minimum, but how? Anyway ... it's a complex issue, no easy plug-and-play solution ...
