Can't thank you enough!
I definitely owe you one.
Back story:
Scott contacted me last Monday to let me know this car popped up on the radar. I followed up immediately but was told that another prospect had first right of refusal. The seller had my name and asked if by some chance I was any relation to the Mr. Beck that was shop foreman at Morgensen Motors back in the early 70's! The seller's father, Dick Morgensen got the car in and used it for his demo; it wasn't even tilted and registered until '79. (Morgensen Motors was the Porsche-VW-BMW dealer in Phoenix at the time.) Unfortunately Dick Morgensen, known for owning and racing a Ferrari TR, a Balchowsky Ole Yeller, and the Morgensen Special had a stroke and was unable to drive the car as much as he would have liked. After his passing his son inherited the car.
So how did I end up with the car?
The other buyer flinched.
He tried haggling instead of just handing over the dough with a smile and a thank you. Mr. Morgensen called me Wednesday night and made me a deal I couldn't refuse.
It was bittersweet for him. Dick Morgensen is a local legend for those of us born and raised in the Phoenix area so this car could not have ended up with a better steward.
Crazy how life works. So once again thank you Scott.

Frank,
No need to thank me. Just like most of the guys here, I figure... It's fun to be part of something like this.

My dad did his fair share of wrenching on the TR and Ole Yeller.
Dick was a respectable driver and enjoyed his share of success.

Looks exactly like one of my E9s...
This Car was built in Dec 1974 and sold in May 1975 to a Beverly Hills Judge. It is 10th from the last US model E9s.
Time capsule original!
It even still has Cosmoline under the hood, all of the smog crap still attached and working and the little BMW flashlight under the dash.
