Indeed. If my wife would allow it (or my bank account more importantly) I'd have a few more marbles in my sack... but then, I like MY marble dagummit.

Wife won't let you buy cars... I have a guaranteed solution on how to change that!

I have been with my Wife for a very loooong time and she is well trained... The only thing she ever says when I bring home another toy is "WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO PUT ANOTHER CAR?"

The way to absolutely guarantee that your Wife will gladly accept you buying more cars and will even encourage you to get more cars is incredibly simple...

    Here is my secret...

Buy a GREAT LOOKING ULTRA EXOTIC SUPER FAST car that you absolutely LOVE... See how simple the solution is! Don't you feel pretty dumb for not figuring this out on your own?

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that you have to eventually sell the car and make a HUGE profit to pay for you and your Wife to live in a nice house...

The 427 Cobra is worth as much as the house, dude. BTW, your pool is broken and leaking into the ocean. You might want to get that looked at...

    HARDY and BECKs or ALPINAS???

I had a set of period (1970s) HARDY AND BECK wheels so I installed them on the GREAT PUMPKIN! The H&Bs are three piece wheels using BBS polished rims... For the BMWs the H&Bs
were the "HOT TICKET" back in the day plus they are lighter and wider then the ALPINAS... Neither 16 inch Wheel was original on the 3.0CS or CSi...

Which wheels do you guys like? The first photo is the Alpinas

Hardy & Beck were an Alpina representative in the US and as I recall copying parts for sale under the Hardy and Beck name. Classy.

Somewhere I have an original full color Miller and Norburn brochure that I uploaded from my collection. They were the stuff back in the day.

I like the H&B's. Cleaner offset.

I'm an East Bay boy from back in the day; still run a couple of BMW's... Today the old Hardy and Beck shop on Fourth Street in Berkeley is a Crate & Barrel outlet...

As long as you are going with non original wheels (as you mention the 16 inch Alpinas were not available in 1973), I would stay with the H&Bs that in mi eye are better looking.

I debated a lot whether to put 16 inch Alpinas in my car, but ended up going for original 14 inch Alpinas (which were an option in 1972 for the CS), even though I believe the 16 inches look cooler.

    Henry,

    Great looking Malaga E9!

The Hardy&Becks came off my CSi when I installed Original 14x7 Alpinas... The guy who sold me the CSi told me that the H&Bs were very special wheels but being into Porsches, Ferraris, MBs, Jags, and Cobra etc and not being into BMWs back in the old days I had no idea who H&B were...

Because the GREAT PUMPKIN is a RESTO MOD with an Injected 3.5L and a 5 Speed along with Scheel Sport Seats the ORIGINALITY factor is gone so it does not matter which 16 inch wheels are installed...

Being that H&B were considered the BMW High Performance guys and sold the the "HOT TICKET" upgrade parts for BMWs I figured that why not have cool period wheels... Plus they are wider (7.5 and 8.5), Lighter and I like the Polished Rims on the GREAT PUMPKIN... Also the H&BS and ALPINAS are very similar...

That settles it! Since Marco likes the Alpinas that proves the H&Bs are obviously much COOLER...
