Why not have Harvey W make you 8Rs? Add the extra inch to the inside? Sell the nines.

Back in the early 1980's I had RS/SC fares installed on my '73S coupe in order to go racing. They were widened slightly to fit full race slicks. They are about 1/2" - 5/8" wider than standard. I now run the car on 245/50/15 street tires with 8" Fuchs spaced out with 22MM spacers. I believe if I raised the car slightly or ran a 235/50/15 rear tire I could probably run 9's on the back. I think any good body shop with metal working capabities could widen RS flares enough for you to run 9's. Just be sure to give the shop the wheels and tires you want to fit and they will be able to make everything work. Be sure to tell them (with pictures) how you want the finished flare to look because there are several ways it can be done and unless you are also changing the front flares you will want to make it look OK with the stock front fender flare. Attached are three pictures of the flares on my '73S to give you an idea of one way to go. Good luck.

Richard, I thought you were running 9's on your car??? Anyway, I have always loved that car!

Here is another picture of my modified flare (actually from an SC) I rerolled the fender lip only to gain the extra clearance over the 9x15. As you can see, the 225's don't necessarily look stretched over the 9's, they fit nicely.
