Thread: Mt Ascutney ( Vt.) Hillclimb

  1. #21
    Hi John,

I went up last Sunday with my silver car. The road was very good for most of the way up. Smooth and banked into very tight turns. Some very fast stretches in between. No broken pavement. Up near the top and probably about 10-15% or so of the total run it got VERY bumpy and hard to navigate at any speed but slow but still no broken pavement. My race car has very stiff suspenssion. I have decided not to compete in the event because I will be driving in the Historics at LRP the following weekend and won't have time to fix it if something breaks. If it was not so close to Historics I would definitely compete in this.
Maybe see you up there as a spectator Sunday. I have a campsite reserved but may be canceling that and just going up for the day.

Ron: I will be there Friday afternoon for the orientation and then the runs will start Saturday morning.
Sounds like we will get in plenty of trips up the hill.
    If the last 10 - 15 % are too rough I don't think I'll be racing though.

Should be a good day for a hillclimb! We'll be there, John, as cheerleaders.

I just finished the adjusted bump-steer on the white cah. Now that I'm running a VT/NH/ME/NY frostheaves setup as well as giant tires, I finally took out the steering rack spacers and aligned everything again. Much, much better! Look out John, I'm gunnin' fer ya.

    What time are you starting?
