Curt... I know, I know. It was really rhetorical... perfectly clear what the end $$$ game is. I don't "get" American Idol either.

Car control at this level is entertainment... but anyone remember what Gymkhana Tests were, pre-drifting?

EDIT: When he actually takes MORE than just a few points in WRC maybe my impression will change.

He does have 4 points in the 2012 season - 2 in Mexico and 2 in NZ...

BTW - those hills are VERY steep on both sides of that jump and to drift at the bottom is insane - the video doesn't even convey how steep it is.

I was also wondering when they shot this? Looks like early morning light.

I think Ken and Alex have a good shot at points in Finland in 3 weeks. Ultra-fast roads (rather than technical roads) suit their style. It's a tough game though. Ask Kimi

I saw a piece on this on the local news program in SF. The city was paid $1M. It was shot on a Saturday morning. The bridge remained "open" but the police ran a slow traffic break while the crew sped ahead and did the shots. The newscaster claimed it didn't generate too much of a backup and they were only shooting on the bridge for a short time. Ken was interviewed and apologized for any delays. Don't know about the streets but it's common that they shut down blocks at a time for movie shoots, so I expect that's what they did. I'm sure the cable car operators enjoyed it!

Those aren't cable cars. They're driving rubber tired truck-chassis trollies, made up to look like cable cars, along the California Street tracks. I imagine that the real Cable Cars move too fast for this kind of gymkhana shot... Also, they shot most of the hills around Twin Peaks and Mount Sutro, not on Russian Hill like Peter Yates did for Bullitt. It's a bit contrived, but fun to watch.

I think it's cool...I lived in SF for 3 years, so it's cool to see familiar streets...... the guy can drive. Is that second interior lever a "trans brake"? ..or does the car have "cutting brakes"?
