Some updates. Motor will be on dyno next week. Oil tank painted and hardware plated. Front end with a little bit of yellow "pop".

Took my Macan in for its annual service and had them mount the XWXs on the HW restored Fuchs. Actually one of these wheels was restored through Sierra Madre's Fuchs finishing service. Slightly pricier than Harvey, but 30 day turnaround. I hadn't found a date matching spare at the time I sent my wheels to Harvey and couldn't (didn't want to) wait another couple of years to get one last wheel finished. So I bit the bullet. They did an amazing job. I cannot tell the SM wheel from the HW wheels.

Now they are sitting on my lift, waiting for the day they can be mounted. I'm taking a load of horns and other stuff to Rob Gross next week and will update with more pics.

Good afternoon Ravi, saw the car at Robert's last week, looks gorgeous. When you get it back I just hope that you are not afraid to drive it. I think as soon as Ken returns you will see the car come together.
Although the detailing will take time , the grunt work is behind you. Can't wait to see it complete. Trust we will see you at Shift into Spring in a few weeks as well as some of our Cars & Coffee meets this summer. Terry.

Hey Terry, hope you are keeping well. I will certainly be out a few times this summer. I'm thrilled with the 911, slow as it has been. It really is going to be one of the absolutely very best restorations done on an early car. Who knew ivory white could look so good? And yes, I plan on driving her (or him---haven't decided yet).

Restore to #1 and then drive to #2. Repeat.

    Some updates.

Carpet from GAHH was perfect material, but had to be unbound and resown using the right carpet patterns and stitching patterns. Overpadded in places under the dimples in the backing material and had to be pared down.

Working on the last 40 or 50 miscellaneous pieces. Remarkably all are available still at the dealer. A better repop of the body plugs in the door and frame (with the concentric circles) is available at Stoddards. Only thing that is outrageously priced are the Porsche heat exchangers and muffler. SSIs are less than half the price, but originality is my driving ethos, so I think I will bite the bullet.

Last major item is the engine bay sound pad. Can't decide between OEM, Appbiz or other? Nothing seems to be truly original, so I guess I have some flexibility here.

Yes, the shock tube protectors and new suspension rubber are on my current list before it gets buttoned up.

More pics. Special prize to anyone who can spot what is wrong with the 1st one (it's a temporary issue).

You can see the XWXs mounted on Harvey's rims in the third pic, waiting to go on.
