This matching-numbers 1968 Porsche 911 Targa—one of just 268 produced in that model year—is a stunning presentation in the factory-correct color combination of code-6806 Irish Green with a black leatherette interior. In 1967, Porsche introduced the Targa in response to the huge customer demand for an open-air version of the highly successful 911/912. The car was cutting edge and innovative with its overhead roll bar clad with stainless-steel trim, which provided both advanced roll-over safety protection as well as a signature styling statement. This car is a heavily optioned example with a 911S oil tank, five-gauge instrumentation, chrome front and rear bumper guards, front fog lights and an electric heater. Additionally, this car features a fixed, heated and tinted rear window, a highly unusual option for model-year 1968 with the majority of Targa cars from this vintage coming standard with the soft and detachable rear window. This 911 has its original horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine with Weber carburetion that produces 130 HP, a 5-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel disc brakes, all of which provide exemplary performance and handling—an impressive driving experience especially in the context of its 50-year age. The interior is classic early 911 with its wood dash board, period-correct wood-rimmed 4-spoke steering wheel, a Becker Europa radio, black seats with houndstooth cloth inserts and full instrumentation. This iconic Porsche 911 Targa has undergone a recent refurbishment by a noted marque expert, including a fresh respray done to a very high standard, a thorough brake service, a new set of Phoenix 165/15 radial tires, new interior using the correct colors and materials, fresh brightwork and reconditioned Fuchs forged-alloy wheels. This car comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, tools and owner’s manual.
Gotta love that wood dash board in this 68!

Judging by the e-Bay listing, he got those numbers from:

It looks like a textbook example of how not to price an early 911.

    slategray 65 301493

This extremely rare and sort after Porsche 911 was delivered new in California.

Finished in slate grey with black leatherette and complemented with black and white hound’s-tooth cloth inserts.

The car was previously owned by one of Dutton’s long time clients who has a vast collection of air cooled Porsches and just traded this 901 from his collection.

The car comes with “Certificate of Authenticity” which verifies matching numbers and original colour and interior combination from manufacturing.

This car would suit the 901 collector worldwide.

    Rhd 65 301930

Chassis number 301930 is the second UK RHD 911 chassis number. Supplied by then Porsche Uk concessionaires AFN Ltd. Extensive research has not uncovered the whereabouts of the first UK supplied car making this possibly the earliest UK customer supplied 911 still to exist.

This very early example was purchased 35 years ago by its third owner. Poor health dictated that the car was mothballed for many years. It has recently been liberated by Mortimers and is being carefully recommissioned.

The vehicle has been inspected and vin print checked by a highly respected Porsche historian and has been verified as completely genuine.

This very important and historic 911 represents possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

car looked to be a nice driver. 200k was fair money for an unrestored non sunroof 66.
