pretty sure i heard 220k on the bali blue car above. Assuming RNM?

I thought the 64 they were calling a 65 was a bargain for a desirable car (sold 255k ) . of course it needed lots of work but solid starting point (from a VIN number point of view anyway .somewhere around #184 i think)

I think all they were buying was the vin #....no telling what was under the TJ paint job. Pretty rough car, not sure when the first car with a sunroof was for sale to the public was. Even had the correct rear deck and grill, someone added the 911 to it.

Guys I purchased the ‘64 Saturday. It comes out of an estate in Minnesota. One owner since ‘68. Never taken apart.Came with a perfect 901 tool kit plus books and records, perfect owners manual, and service book with stamps beginning in 1/65. It is a driver but needs some TLC. Will probably restore it back to glory. i plan to start a thread in the coming weeks once I’ve inventoried what I got. FYI…Bob Fleming knows the car well and has blessed it as a jewel. Matching #’s of course. I really can’t believe I got a ‘64.

Why was the auction house referring to it as a 65? I assume that's how it's titled? Congrats great find.

Congrats Frank! Can't wait to see the progress! Maybe one of the earliest cars with a sunroof!

Thanks guys. The sunroof is a prototype manual. Bob Fleming is going to get some documentation on it. Only other earlier production sunroof would be Seinfeld's #49 according to Bob. We are examining the car but I will say the original floors are in great shape. Owner was an architect/banker. Never took car out in bad weather and kept it stored indoors always. This weekend may have it out for C&C.

very nice car, congrats on the buy…
the golde sunroof can also be a dealer add-on, as the shape of the sunroof has not changed over the years.
what I do miss is the zipper … is there one in the rear part of the headliner?

    kardex would help in generell-..

and i think that car deserves also an own thread…
