FS 2.8L engine build parts...ready for assembly

Selling all my 2.8L engine parts. Everything prep'd and literally ready for assembly. Rather than let this stuff sit around waiting for more time after my four boys have entered college, I want to see if there's any interest.

The engine was to be a 10.3:1 2.8L twin plugged MFI engine. I'll list everything here, starting with the following. Prices w/o shipping (to ConUS only), paypal extra.

    10.3:1 92mm Mahle pistons/cylinders, brand new: $3900
DC60 cams with MFI drive lug: **SOLD**
twin plug distributer w/ trigger wire (SC core distributor): **SOLD**
lower turbo valve covers w/ surface machined flat (powder coated): **SOLD**
    lower plug retainers: $55
    plug wire holders: $75
two sets plug wires w/ coil wires: $350

Will list more later, but you can ask in the meantime.

Yes, I have, but then people typically expect a discount. I think I can make out better by selling everything off individually. Whatever doesn't sell, I can keep for the next project. All the plated parts, gaskets and odds and ends can be used on my '68.

911_2.2T, I will get back with you later today/tonight.

Are the P&Cs the 'old style' that give the huge compression when used with 2.4/.7 heads or the newer design to give 10.3:1 with 2.4 heads?

Not sure about your question. I am only aware of one offering by Mahle in 92mm 10.3:1 compression pistons for the "regular"/non-RSR head stud spacing. I have 2.4 heads that I had chamfered for the 92mm cylinders. I never got as far as setting the engine up and cc'ing the heads to figure out the actual compression. I do know compression always varies from the "official" number. You can see on the box that the manufacture date of the pistons is October 2003. I'd give someone like Henry at Supertec a call. Sorry, don't know if that helps.

I believe when I bought these back in 2006 or so, they offered a 9.5:1 92mm piston. Those weren't available, and I seem to recall that I got the 2nd to last set of the 10.3 pistons in the US. They only do very small runs of these every 3-5 or so years IIRC. I still haven't seen a set of new 9.5 pistons, and who knows when, if ever, Mahle will do another run of these.

Interesting question IMHO. I believe the early 2.4/2.7 (911.83) cases used for the bigger bore 2.8s experienced cracked cases. And, then, there was a special case and P/Cs? for the later cases. However, I'm totally confused on this, frankly. Help? Thanks.

You'd think "DrRSR" would remember that, poser?!!!

A 7R case, which became available around late-1972, will have no issues if the redline is around 7200. "Early" cases are non-7R cases. The spigots of a 2.7 case do not have to be enlarged to accommodate 2.8 cylinders.
