I think the owner made the right choice as to color scheme. The car would have my 'Peoples Choice' vote.

Congratulations, Marco!
Job Well Done!
(I agree with the above comments on color choice...car looks great in monochromatic trim - especially in that orange )
See you trackside!
cheers

As a matter of fact, I didn't.
Valve stems were at 4 o'clock, screws were all indexed, interior was perfectly symmetrical ... but I greased the front and rear hood latches and didn't get enough of the grease cleaned off before judging.
The C4S - even though it was a "new" car - was presented VERY well. The owner did his homework and it showed; the wheel caps were indexed, tool kit and paperwork were impeccable, etc.
Losing to that car bugs me a bit - because they're decades apart and probably shouldn't be up against one another - but his presentation of the car was so good that I'm not too bent about the results.

. . .
Never been to this event before and I wasn't sure about what to expect, but . . . a nice little show! Beautiful day --- sunny, some ocean breeze, a big lawn to park on, and lots of shade, too. Even the food was good.
I came up The One from Santa Monica, so I enjoyed the drive -- both ways. Got a little busy going home, but it's still the coast. Here's some pics:
Big Stick. Ex-Matsuda collection, 2800 miles. Fully federalized. Owner said it was $250k to convert . . . but power was up 125HP to 575.
(Almost took out Marco coming in.)
Oh yeah . . . car's twenty-three-years-old.
. . . roller crank.
Often described, seldom seen --- never by me, even in photographs. This is the infamous Hirth roller-crank assembly initially fitted to the 1500 Super motor, back in the middle of the last century. Back before warranties, Customer Satisfaction Indexes, running water, in-door plumbing . . .
Guy said he'd been collecting these bits, like, forever. Says he's gonna put it/them back in that car.
Wow.
Personally? I'd put an octopus in my pants before I'd put a roller-crank in a Porsche, but . . . that's just me.
Some side-by-sides . . .
