Is the Bosch RPM transducer still available?

    Hi.
My "Zeitschalter" is totally fried, and I need a new one.
Are they still produced, or is a used one my only option?? I called Porsche Norway but they could not find it.

Info from Zithlord probably from this forum:
PN 2k 9711 0336611006 "RPM transducer" AKA "speed switch"

The RPM Transducer receives 12V (ignition-switched) power. When the distributor/tachometer wire signal says the engine is above 1500 RPM or so, it sends power to the microswitch. When the throttle arm contacts (closes) the microswitch when you are off the accelerator pedal, the fuel shutoff solenoid is activated. This pushes the injection pump main rack past full lean and shuts off fuel flow. The engine then slows in RPM. At the point that the distributor says the engine is below 1500 RPM, it opens the circuit to the microswitch and the solenoid retracts, allowing idle fuel flow to keep the engine from stalling.

der Zeitschalter = "Time Switch" auf Deutsch-- what you show in the photo is NOT the MFI rpm transducer but a different relay.

The transducers are NLA- but can be rebuilt, either professionally (Otto's Venice) or by skilled amateurs.

So is the relay shown the one for a two stage defroster? I see now that is dos not have the correct Bosch number for the RPM transducer "speed switch" as stated above.

if your rpm transducer is bad, a lot of people just disconnect the microswitch. you'll probably get some backfires on occasion when lifting off.

I would say "No" because those relays are all Hella built. The link that John posted had pictures of 2 other units which look similar in construction, but not the same. Edit: I will also add that the one in my car has an old Bosch sticker and logo. This does look to be a newer part as Zithlord mentions below.

I have read some treads written by among other Warren Hall. This relay pictured is indeed a RPM tranducer/speed switch, but might be a later replacement part, made in Malaysia and not West germany. Read these treads that confirm that 0.333.400.100 is a RPM tranducer/speed switch. It can be found several places on the web stores but price is in the 150 euro area.......

You guys are right, I am wrong. I found it in Bosch under the Porsche number.
    It supercedes 0 336 611 001.

Looks like still available at $382. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...DINJ%2E%20PUMP

Norway's a long way from NYC, but I'll bet John would buy you a beer at McSorley's if you're ever in town.
