Last week I updated the list with about 5 new builds. Today I've added just one, but a significant one: 901/10 6392126 26342, the "last" '69 S engine.
Why do I say "last" and not last? Consider that we have 901/03 6192455 as the "last", but 6192459 exists. Also that we have 901/16 6197292 as the "last", but 6197299 exists. Consider also that the "last" 1969 911S coupe is 119301492 but one VIN 119301500+ is known. I'm just speculating that the 'ending' numbers for VIN's and engine #'s may not be accurate. Thoughts?

The widely published numbers, which originally came mostly from Porsche AG, are wrong in many cases including the last numbers in some ranges. In other threads, we confirmed that last 1966 304955 exists but thought the last was 304949 from "our source in the Alps who has all the Kardex. Also, there is an error of over 1,000 engines in, I think it is the 1968 list for one of the engine ranges, I can't recall right the exact details. I think Jim Schrager and I updated it on this board. Thanks.

I don't think it is error at all. My build #8 for this engine came from the factory documents, and it follows the pattern nicely. I suspect that the #27 is the case pairing # since that would fit nicely with the available data. Is this the build # (8) in the lower right corner? I've added a few more photos I got tonight. The 27 is the case pairing #. It looks like the build # location started off on the upright section, and the type # was not included at the start.
Many thanks to Richard for pointing out this eBay item to me.

Eric, contact me concerning this engine from a 1964 Porsche 911. It was originally installed into a car at the factory on December 17, 1964.
