Thread: Ultimate ST thread

About the 911 Repsol in a current article this is said:
The Porsche technicians insisted that it was strictly necessary to warm up the engine for a long time before using the car. It used Shell Rotella oil, which was the oil most commonly used in diesel trucks and was very heavy, so it needed to be warmed up enough to properly lubricate the engine before driving the car.

It doesn't sound like I've read about different oils assembled by the factory for different engines... I understand, if the factory says this to the owner. Where did they write this down so that I was present at the delivery of the vehicle? Was it a last adjustment before delivery to the owner or would that vehicle, being at the factory, be "ignited" etc. with that "special" oil?

It may be a matter of "who you know" however generally these ST's, at least in rally trim, were all road registerable, and needed to be to qualify as a rally car.
9111301270 used to be road registered in France in its early life as can be seen in this picture

The monegasque gentleman sold the six cars (including #1270) to a Frenchman in Paris in 2018. They are now for sale because of his legal troubles (the Frenchman).

because the order form for 911 2301081 includes a T in the model instead of an S attaching number 911 534. I had seen this a long time ago but I don't think I ever asked. Is this a "visual" proof of what was said that ST was a mix between 911S and 911 T? Was it a mistake when filling out the order form to write 911T instead of S and did they correct it at the factory or do I see things a little wrong?
If the S instruments were requested on the order sheet, it is clear that it was not a mistake when filling out the sheet.

Was it a common method? Or was it done in this car and some other...?
*Would the motorization of the 911 T pay less taxes if they are presented on paper?

A question occurs to me, has the Porsche ever been supplied by a dealer to take a vehicle and then modify it at the factory? I mean... porsche sells Hahn a car and then asks him for it for his own use, modifications etc... or did all modified vehicles, prototypes etc belong to porsche "from birth"? Is there any vehicle or document that is a sales invoice from the dealer to the factory or has it never been the case that the factory needed Stock from dealers?
