I think the 21 ‘72 911 S M491 option factory-built customer cars are pretty much all accounted for and cannot be disputed (I know all their VIN numbers and first owners off the top of my head). However the 2.3s are probably more difficult because they were ‘only’ converted 911 S cars using various kits supplied by the factory and therefore cannot be documented in the same way. IMO.

Going back to the matter you mention! Eladio's Spanish S/T from before '72...had the T annotation next to the 911S model. If this meant S/T it would be clear that Porsche itself marked the vehicles as S/T and not by an option (M). If that T meant st .... Several things could be looked at......
I understand that someone told me that it means tourist....Tourist delivery. Strange place to mark that... So I lean towards T indication on the build sheet. It indicates ST... according to what I think.... Maybe ST existed without the m491 options on the build sheet? The S/T designation was first used...when?
And what would that annotation entail? If it puts the annotation "T" /next to the S) it must have the option m491 or the other way around.... If it has the option m491, should it have the annotation of the T on the construction sheet? I suppose there are clear examples that I will review now but... are there vehicles that have m491 without the T written on the construction sheet? On the other hand... There are several vehicles with that handwritten T on their build sheets. These vehicles that I have been able to see (including eladio's) were genuine ST... so I ask the obligatory question again.... Did Porsche use the designation S/T internally to name "some" vehicles? And if so... When do I use the denomination S/R in a sheet of similar construction?


Doubts... what could easily be the result if, for example, the Porsche showed its letters... If it showed the construction sheet of the 49 brother of the vehicle 51... Would it have the same annotation "T" written by hand on it? We know that they forgot to write down the vehicle as "rallye" in the construction book, but what happened to the construction sheet of 49? Does the Porsche historical archive have it? I sure do... I guess they don't get paid to "know"


I know that S/T is not an invention of time. I know from my own vehicle (whatever that is or not). So... did the two denominations officially exist? S/T and S/R and I say OFFICIALLY given the attached documents. Or am I completely wrong and that T clearly says tourist delivery.........

I would also like to ask... Eladio's vehicle did not originally have an M220? I never ride it or when was that "extra" equipped?

Hi! Would anyone happen to have a template or know the measurements on where to cut air ducts in the front spoiler like the attached photo. In the process of building a ST "replica" and think I may need these ducts for cooling living here in So. Cal. or possibly run without horn grills. If anyone has any experience on the cooling setup you have it would be greatly appreciated to chat. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. If this should be a new thread please let me know and I'll delete it & start a new one. Thanks Joe.

Are those numbers that you see on the shock absorber the so-called "patent numbers" for each country? When these shock absorbers are restored, is it normal to paint those numbers black? In my case, they are just sprayed with the Koni Red paint. Did they get erased over time or is it a failed detail in this ST?
