    just to keep an old threade going... no clue what they did, but they had the parts sitting on the shelf to make a twin plug 2.7 in '72: 89mm p/c from the short stroke 2.5 + 70.4 crank = 2.7.

    Per Starky's book...it looks like one of the last "race" cars called a 911S was sold to a family member Michael Piech...I agree with Gene....the boys in the race shop probably pulled some parts off the shelf and made a car that an important family member wanted
