Thread: Show Your Seats

  1. #871
I have these seats from an old 911 project car. I think they are Recaro Rallyes but the backs look slightly different from other Rallye 1s. Does anybody know what they are?

    Thanks Mike

What I see, are these late 67 Recaro buckets. The covering is not original ( this statement is very gentle )
and the rails too. But congrats to the seats.

These are 67 Rally Recaros. Very cool seats.

They might be Rallye Bitter seats. A pic from the side might tell it. I have both here and could take dimensions but looking at the side profile could tell the story.
I really love the rallye bitter - it's the perfect seat for me - I even built a custom gearshift lever so I can get in first on the BMW 1600 with ti/sa dogleg

these are not rallye-bitter. you can see it well on the 2nd picture. michael and kjell are right: 1967 recaro, although the 67 bucket was simply called "bucket" and not yet rallye 1.

    regards uwe

Hallo Uwe, wie kann man das von hinten sehen?

    Dear Mike, Uwe and Uli,
I would confirm, that both are 67 Recaro buckets, but not the Recaro Bitter bucket.
Here pictures for comparison. Main difference: The seat base side wings are higher and longer in the "Bitter" type Recaros.

    Hi Uli,
Indeed, the best way to see the difference is the direct comparison, next the side view or the front view.
Der Profi sieht es auch von hinten..wie früher die großen Jodmangelstrumen/Schilddrüsen in Bayern von hinten zu sehen waren....
I would say the seats in your last picture are: left to the right
    Recarobucket-Recarobucket-RecaroBitter-RecaroBitter
    Correct?

[QUOTE=uai;1126796] Hi Claudius, I also have both, I'm just wondering how you can see them from behind, as Uwe says.
If you don't have a direct comparison (or can sit in), it's difficult to see in pictures from the front, depending on the perspective. From behind I think it's almost impossible.

hi uli, with a little experience you can see it well from behind. I drew an imaginary line for you. ;-) (in the rallye bitter this line - the beginning of the rear foot - is much further up (upside down)

    regards uwe
