I have just bought some 5.5" Group 4 TTs for my sons VW and they weigh just under 16 pounds.

The 5.5" are on sale at the moment. Quite like the look of them too.

The new American Torq Thrust is a two piece forged wheel, so you would think it would be lighter than the Group4 at the very least... I'm betting Discount Tire isn't getting answers from Wheel Pros either.
Fuchs are great wheels and light... I have some original aluminum AA torque thrusts 15x7 and they are NOT LIGHT but man do they look cool.

Quick update. Finally got help over at American Racing. As it turns out, the new Torq Thrust wheels from American will not fit over early S brakes. Bummer.

Worthless them as far as I’m concerned. That said, I am surprised by this.

I was sort of shocked myself... Seems like that rules out 90% of the market? And you'd think they would have all the fitment stuff out of the way before they brought them to market, no? I had my car in the air, wheels off, taking all kinds of measurements for them...

I found one AR Torq Thrust D Wheel in excellent original condition. It had been in dry dark storage for over 45 years. I rubbed in a coat of Gibbs as a preservative.

15x6 size. A real magnesium wheel that weighs only 12.6 lbs.

I recently received my set of five NOS (yes, never been used) second gen 15x6 magnesium GTP wheels and I have a couple questions. First, what are y'all using for lug nuts? second, are tubes required with these wheels, or can I find valve stems that will seal correctly?

    thanks!

Not sure if these nuts fit the magnesium rims - shown on the aluminium. I had some nuts machined for my ali.
