I've always wondered why you can't use a 15-inch chevy wheel. Fill the holes with a dowel and then drill new holes for the Porsche bolt pattern. You would have to find a Chevy (or Ford) wheel with the correct offset though.

I'm betting Harvey could do this. If he can't do it no one can.

The offsets are wrong and aside from having five spokes, they don't look the same as the Porsche wheels.

With all the great information in here there's little discussion about finish. I bought a set of alumium 15x7s for my 914 that were painted black. I imagine a lot of the photographs of the magnesium wheels show a raw finish. Are the aluminum wheels ever anodized black? Is that gray finish I see throughout the thread mostly anodization or paint?

    Mark,

The center spokes of mine appear to be painted a grey while the rim appears to be in natural mag. Was probably chromated initially.

If you have magnesium wheels you've just won the lottery.

Value would depend a lot on if you have a matching set of the same widths.

BTW, the wheels are/were outer machined and center left as cast. That accounts for the color difference.
Many painted the centers or the entire wheel black to help slow the corrosion.
