And before that link goes dead . . .
'. . . recently restored example of one of the marque’s most iconic cars, and represents the genesis of the ‘Rennsport’ models. Under the engine lid is the car’s original 2.7-litre air-cooled flat-six, which produces around 210bhp and drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 82,116 miles . . .
. . . Believed to be one of only around 100 right-hand drive UK-market cars built, this Carrera RS was first registered in February 1973, and was originally finished in the period hue of Light Yellow (code 6262) . . .
. . . raced in the Porsche RS Championship, however it was crashed during a race and was subsequently rebuilt. It was then acquired by the current owner in 2002, who commissioned Le Mans Porsche entrants Pickup Motorsport to prepare the car for track use. This included the installation of a roll cage, a plumbed-in fire extinguisher, race seats and full harnesses, amongst other modifications . . .

Some information on what appears to be this RS from a previous listing. As mentioned others know the car so I shan’t comment further on it other than to say it is a second series and as I suspected the first registration date mentioned by authorised dealer in current listing appears to be a mistake, which is par for the course for Porsche if flaky COA of past are anything to go by. Maybe it is date the car was ordered — being in the middle of the second series it wasn’t built until February so would be novel to be registered half way around world in HK at the very beginning of the month before build completed? Only 319 RS were built in calendar 72 of which only about three handfuls were in RHD C16 configuration — this RS is not one of those earliest RHD ones !

'. . . KEY FACTS
A stunning example of a coveted collector car; one of just 11 cars known to have left the factory in Aubergine, and benefiting from a comprehensive two-year restoration between 2010 and 2012
It is powered by the 210hp 2.7-litre air-cooled flat-six, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
Since joining The Leonard Collection, around £25,000 has been spent to further enhance the restoration and complete a fine detail process.
Original German delivery, understood to have been imported and re-registered in the UK in 1990.
Between 2012 and 2016, the car was owned and enjoyed by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai.
EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS
Understood to be one of only 11 cars in Aubergine, it was equipped to Touring specification, with sport seats, headrests, a sunroof, electrical antenna and speakers, and spotlights over the front bumper.
It rides on staggered 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, fitted with matching Continental tyres (205/60 R15 front, 225/55 R15 rear).
The car comes with the tool roll, spare wheel, jack, air compressor, handbook, RS supplement, brochure, and spare keys. A copy of the Carrera RS book by Doctor Thomas Gruber - book number 1419 to match the car’s VIN - is also included.
Factory options:
* Sport seats left and right.
* Headrest left and right
* Electric Antenna
* Speakers
* Touring Specification
* Sunroof
* Automatic Seat Belts Left and right
* Additional High Beam Lamps Over Bumper
CONDITION
Between January 2010 and February 2012, this Carrera 2.7 RS was put through an exhaustive restoration process, at a total cost of around £90,000. The car was taken back to bare metal, any necessary repairs were carried out to the highest standards, new bumpers were fitted, rust-prevention treatments were applied to the shell, and it was repainted in the correct Aubergine hue.
The mechanical restoration took place in 2011 at JAZ Porsche, with a full strip down and vapour blasting of the engine and ancillaries. The cylinder heads were sent off to have new valve guides and seats, and the throttle bodies were stripped and re-plated. The gearbox was also rebuilt, replacing any worn parts.
Around £25,000 has been spent on the car since it joined The Leonard Collection, with the aim of attending to fine details to create the perfect period-correct RS.
Today, the paintwork remains in generally excellent condition, with only around 2,600 miles covered since the restoration was finished.
Its re-trimmed interior is in great condition, with a very smart finish to the leatherette and corduroy seat upholstery in particular.
There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
The most recent MOT test was on 10 September 2020 at 73,278 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. It has achieved the same clean result over the last 10 years, covering some 3,000 miles on the road.
SERVICE HISTORY
The vendor spent £22,300 with leading specialist Autofarm to carry out a fine detail process on the car, and make it as perfect as possible.
Previous recent services on file were in January 2019 at 73,067 miles (Autofarm) and June 2018 at 72,722 miles (Porsche Centre Leeds).
An impressive history file accompanies the car, with a detailed rundown of the nut-and-bolt restoration process, presenting all of the work carried out on the car . . .'

I like it. Not one of the completely overrestored cars.
