If so that would explain the wrong rear slam panel as it raced in the mid 80's in the Porsche Production series
Do you know who raced it ? My car was raced in that series in the mid/late 80’s.

No I have a couple of photos - one with the name Tony Wingrove against it at the Mallory hairpin, and another, below,

without any names but with a lot more decals. i believe that is the mid 80's races and the Tony Wingrove one, below, was when the car was quite new

Now that Doug has posted that close up of the vin plate we can see that it is not 0297 but 0509 -

It ain't the eyes, it is a higher resolution image at Lusso Prestige website page.

Now that it is clear that it’s 509 not 297 I have some familiarity with 509 but no actual affiliation other than I am acquainted with a PO who had it among a significant nice collection and who is a very nice chap when we’ve met. Not sure why I didn’t twig it was 509 not 297 immediately as I have seen it in some detail but penny only dropped that when a different pal contacted me.

    Previous sale

Haven’t checked what buyer premium was applicable in that prior sale but are not huge on that type of auction format
