    Hey Nick...that's okay! Would you believe? At the 1971 PCA Porsche Parade, held in Sun Valley, Idaho, there was an early 911 with a chromed air filter housing. I remember thinking it looked pretty cool. In 1971, there was lots of "shine" displayed in a PCA concours. Chrome plating of bits and pieces was a way to show that you really cared about your car. These days I'm glad I couldn't ever afford to do that...

    Yes, but that car's throttle linkage is yellow cad, and I'm pretty sure it should be clear (silver).

    I hadn't heard of the diode trick but Hollywood did a similar fix for me when I changed the 69's ignition to Crane. The price was very reasonable as I recall. All the best,
