    looking for correct basketweave vinyl

I am looking for enough of the correct basketweave material to recover the door panels on my 70 coupe. Autos International is out of the quality "german" material they have stocked in the past and only have a repro material that is not a good match to the original. It's a stiffer vinyl and the punched areas are larger than the original making it look less like a basketweave surface. The best way to tell which is repro is to look at the backside of the material. The good stuff has barely visible punch marks while the repro is deeply marked by the punch from the front side.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Scott,

You may want to try World, I have not used them, but it may be worth a try.

    Try Parts Heaven:

They sold me a basket weave door panel cheap. The material was in very good shape but needed to be restored. I had similar vinyl door panels on a '59 VW cabrio that I restored. They were light tan and were badly stained and faded, but they were re-stained and then looked like new. Black ones should be easier to deal with.

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.

Scott, please do post if you find another source. I just received the repro stuff from Autos Int yesterday and I'm not entirely happy with it. It looks more like punched vinyl than basketweave. I didn't know that was what I was getting when I ordered it.

    Thanks,
    Jason

Sam's source Tony @ Tony's Autobahn in San Diego can provide the correct german material to match the original. He is charging $41.0 per yard of approx: 52"w material, with 2 yards enough to cover two door panels and dash strips. I agree that the repro material is not what you want if you are trying to match the original pattern. I don't know why Autos International doesn't have the correct material because they have had it in the past, but they told me that they receive one large shipment at a time and the repro material is what they received in their last shipment.
Thanks for all the help and thank you Sam for the source.
