Thread: Individual K&N filters on MFI

    I run a K&N filter in the stock air box with the Dansk sport muffler on a stock 2.4 E with no problems or flat spots.

    If one eliminates the stock air box a modification is going to have to be made for the oil breather hose. I have seen some non eligant solutions involving a 2 ltr plastic bottle.

    Interesting to see this thread revived. I had not read through it in a while. For some reason a bunch of the graphs and images had been dropped that I originally posted. I just went back and edited those posts to include them again.

    Henry, I agree that there is more potential if the motor was tuned for an exact configuration. Note that my car was tuned by a very good local MFI mechanic with the stock muffler and the K&N filters. Make of that what you will.

    Chris, as for the oil breather hose relocation, I use a plastic bottle myself. Not a 2 liter one though. Works just fine, but there are definitely more elegant ways to catch any vented oil.
