    Valve stems and weights

    Good morning;

    It's been brought to my attention that since I'm replacing the tires on my 1973 911 with CN36s, and anticipate showing the car in the future, I should make sure to get the right valve stems and balancing weights.

    It was also brought to my attention that factory balanced wheels had weights both inside and outside.

    My questions are:

    1. For Concourse showings, are stems and weights judged?

    2. If so, which stems and weights do I use and where do I source them from?

    3. Is it really necessary to place weights on the outside of the wheel? Saw a picture of one. Doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.

    For me, is pretty cool to see vintage weights on the outside.
    But I don’t want to see modern weights at all.

    What type of car shows (Concours d’Elegance or others) and sanctioned by whom are you considering? You may be overthinking this. Good topic!
