Any guidance on which battery charger works best with the Sonnenschein Gel Battery ?

My Moll's have bitten the dust after 8 years so have ordered a pair from Lauderdale Battery today...

My existing battery chargers are listed as for acid based batteries only...

I use battery 'maintainers' as opposed to straight chargers. The maintainer senses the battery charge and will regulate on/ off as required to keep the battery charged. You turn it on and leave it on to do its thing. There are many available but I have bought mine from Griots. It does have a gel type setting. For my daily driven car I don't need to use anything.

I use this on my Sonnenschein’s when needed: https://www.batterytender.com/3amp-selectable-voltage. Works great and detects battery type.

My 10-year-old Sonnenschein still tests good, but probably reaching the end of its life. Before that happens unexpectedly, like you nickd, I just ordered two new batteries from Susie at Lauderdale.

On battery tenders, I have been using this Schumacher unit with success. Inexpensive and readily available, the tech rep at Schumacher confirmed it is appropriate for use with the Sonnenschein battery. https://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SP...cd67b74bc&th=1

Thanks folks for your responses - very helpful - I've acquired 1 of these recently -- https://www.batterytender.com/plus. It's a maintainer also. I do have an old version of the same but I suspect it's not gel compatible, so likely source https://www.batterytender.com/3amp-selectable-voltage.
