    New Battery

This last week I've experienced a no start when I run out in the garage to run into town in the Porsche. Starts up ok after a short recharge with my charger, but then the next day, no start. Pulled the battery, which I had previously moved to my smugglers box and lo and behold the date was 03/14!!! Wow 9 years, guess I got my moneys worth out of it. So will pick up a new one today.

Recently replaced mine. October, 2002 to April, 2023 was a good run by any standard (21 years), but my Sears Die Hard Group 58 just wouldn't take a charge anymore. Reluctantly went to NAPA for a replacement. Purchased a Defender Group 58 (NAPA Part No. 7558) and installed same. BTW, the Die Hard cost $49.99 in 2002, the Defender cost $150.00 in 2023. I wonder how long it will last.

I need to replace both batteries in my 72 911 T. I was searching last night for AGM batteries, thinking about potential leakage and rust associated with acid batteries. Does anyone have a recommendation as to whether AGM is the right move and, if so, any that will fit the early 911 cars with dual batteries?

Many of us use the SONNENSCHEIN BATTERIES available from Lauderdale battery in FL. Expensive but long lasting when properly maintained.

Thanks Tom. BTW, you might notice I posted the need for a space tube 901 110 236 00 in the parts needed section this morning. I saw on a post yesterday that you might have some available. If that's true, could you PM with with price? I tried to PM you but not able for some reason.

Tom, which model of this battery do you recommend for an early 911T?

My Sonnenschein just died after 5 years, not as long as I expected. It's been on the trickle charger for the last 2 weeks, which showed it was charged, but it wouldn't start. I am unhappy; I may hit up the AAA for my free battery (premiere membership).
