    Dumb odometer reset mounting question

    My car was missing its speedo when I got it. Currently mounting the replacement I found. For mounting I have the chrome washer and the nut. Looking at everything I think there should also be some sort of washer. Is this correct? TIA!

    2 chrome washers and the threaded collar. One washer on each side of the dash.

    Played around with this today but it looks like a single washer is not enough. I get so much "stick out" that the chrome threaded collar. Any ideas?
