Does anyone know what is this diagonal strip for?

It seems that some did not have it, as shown below (early?):

    Good to know. Thanks Bob.

The PET only lists one part number (911.521.697.00) for the bottom cushion ('74 to '79 Sports) which is the very first picture above, but was there ever a part number for the earliest or ROW version without the diagonal strip? I think '74 dated factory spare parts catalogue will only show this but I don't have any. (PM me if you find the P/N)
    Thx.

That is interesting and makes sense but, that's a later seat. On my '72s, the seat buzzer switches were actually tucked up between the bottom of the seat cushion and the seat webbing. Not, under the seat vinyl as those foam pieces would suggest.

Might explain the difference in the PNs and the PET description.

Yes, it's strange that the location of the sensor was moved from underside of the cushion to the top.

Might explain the difference in the PNs and the PET description.
I was talking about the post '74 cushions, not pre-73 (difference size)

Was seat heating available as an option for the Sports seats during the G-model years '74 to '79 ?
