Mystery Clutch Kit Part - My post On the "bird" website

    Hi All
This may fall into the category of 'dumb-a$$ed question of the day', but here goes anyway; this stamped steel part (best guess - a low grade ferritic stainless) was included with a new Sachs clutch disc for a 901 transmission in a 1970 911T. There was no info included in the disc package regarding this piece.

Dimensionally, the part is 1.4mm thk. with an overall length of 47mm; the holes are 22.6Ø mm I.D. & 5.7Ø mm I.D. Each hole is lined with some sort of polymeric. The stamped identifier numerals are 19193S - & the letters DPC.

I’ve performed searches (including the PET) to determine the purpose or use for this part but have drawn blanks to this point. Does anyone have any knowledge of its intended function?

    Thanks & Cheers
    JB

    That part is a mystery , not for a 901 or a 911 transaxle that would be in your 1970 911T .

It's an aftermarket double acting seal similar to '99-'12 GM Engine Oil Pump Pickup Tube Gasket 12575550. I think it was inadvertently dropped in your box.
