Pistons for Nikasil and Cast iron Cylinders

Does anyone know how the piston to cylinder wall clearance varies from a aluminium nikasil cylinder to a cast iron cylinder?

The two types of cylinders would expand quite different amounts as they heat up

I suspect that if you put a piston designed for a nikasil cylinder in the same size cast iron cylinder it will be too tight after it heats up.

I’m confused about this frequent ‘Better over here’ comment? Do you mean here as in the USA or here as in ESR, rather than Pelican, Rennlist or DDK?

'Better over here' meaning the poster posted this thread in our 'Other Porsche Passions' forum.
With his question I thought it better over here in our 'Technical Info' forum....
