    Screw mountings

When replacing my carpets I encountered these two brackets in back of the rear seat backs. Any idea what they are for?

Maybe zoom out a little and give people a better idea of where the holes are. Don't see anything like that on my '69.

inside the oval right behind where the inside seat line ends. I wonder if there should not be two screws there to hold carpet down.

There are 4 of those, 2 in the center as you show, 2 on the outside. If I recall, they are the screw hold downs for the rear carpet on the back of the rear seats. Here is a picture with the screws.

Thanks, I'll have to pull the carpet up again to locate the holes.

you can locate the holes with a thin pointed mini pick pretty easily.
