SWB Scholars: Engaging the Learning Process re: '67 Trunk Carpets, Please

    Registry Scholars,

I find it necessary to re-open my inquiry regarding front trunk carpet provenance with a specific request for photos of the front trunk carpets for '67 models, especially anyone who might have a '67 SWT. I'd really like to see trunk carpet photos of any Registry members with '67 SWTs (or just '67 model year carpets).

I've discovered solid sources of provenance information that indicates that the '67 trunk carpets were transitioned during the '68 model year, with the later '68 cars having trunk carpets that were cut away near the battery. Clearly, the first Targas were MY '67, and my '68 was #11880001, which is commonly understood to pose a series of 'transitional' provenance questions. The official Parts Manual, itself, notes more than a dozen transitional pieces in my car, with #0002 carrying a different version of the same piece (see window winders, for example). I have no problem considering that trunk carpets might have 'transitioned' in much the same manner.

The restoration of #11880001 has been an educational process of discovery (and frustration, if I'm being honest), but it has also been kind of cool exchanging information with many of the scholars.

So, if you have a '67 model 911 with original trunk carpets, could you be so kind as to share some photos in order to bring this piece of research full circle?

    Thank you, as always.

    '67 trunk casrpet photos

Here are some photos of the '67 trunk carpet for comparative purposes.

Note the carpet near the battery, and the carpet extending beyond the fuel tank.

Does this carpet configuration conform to those of other '67s? Your photos would be helpful to establishing good information.

    Thank you all, again.
