Thread: 72 seat belt receiver question

    72 seat belt receiver question

The parts book shows a different part number for the the left and right receiver (no part number on my receivers), and I can see that the metal post/stud is indeed in different positions but I see nothing else on the receivers that is different. I don't have a clue to the purpose of the post/stud, so it is not obvious to me which is left (driver), and which is right. Thank you

Might not be correct, but the one on the right is on my drivers side.

On my 72S, the post is uppermost, which corresponds with the triangular “Please Press” sticker which is only on that side.

Thank you...do you mean that the post on yours is centered - neither left or right?

Kiwi - that's perfect - thanks a million. I still don't understand the purpose of the posts - do you know?

I wonder if it matters on our application, Probably used on a VW where it has a function.

I’m having trouble figuring out how to mount 72-73 seat belt receivers to the threaded tabs on the center side of a Recaro sport seat. The tab is a captive bolt that I think only accepts a bolt from the center toward the seat, right? Does anyone have a photo they can post? Thanks.
