what about this 70E albert blue coupe in Cali .... here on Pelican ...looks really nice and straightforward ... should meet your needs ...owner is online now, from what I saw, so you could PM him for chat .. (I'm not owner, nor related in any way .. just passing along what looks like nice car ... caveat emptor of course :-)

interesting car, whats the consensus on it, seems.....affordable?
Needs paint. The minor damage the owner claims is much more severe.
You are looking for a hot rod, this car seems mostly stock. I think it is priced right based on condition.

Basically, I want to end up with a 2000 pound car that makes around 200hp… and it makes sense to “buy the motor” given the cost of a motor build these days. I can remove weight, work on suspension setups, etc… myself.
I highly recommend the Albert Blue Hot Rod approach!

I realise that you are on the 'hunt' for a 200hp 2000lbs car but as Chris mentions "ball park price" is the great leveller. 200hp engines (65-73 era) [Im assuming twin spark] ain't cheap and most are in personally built up cars that weight has always been considered.
Personally I think you may get more 'traction' with your quest if you are able to express your budget.
all the very best tho
